MatchChamps turns real winners lists into a visual football memory challenge. In every round you see 5 champions on one side and 5 years on the other, and your task is to connect every name to the correct date.
Categories can range from the Ballon d'Or or Champions League to the World Cup, the Euro, domestic leagues, or historical football trophies. The challenge is not only recognising a winner, but also placing several close years correctly under pressure.
You draw cables between each champion and the year you believe is correct until all five pairings are filled. In Easy mode you get 2 attempts: after the first submit, correct links stay gold and wrong links stay red so you can fix them. In Hard mode you only get one shot before the full solution is revealed.
The strongest rounds use famous football trophies or awards with years that are genuinely close enough to cause doubt, because that forces players to remember real football history rather than click blindly.
Why is this more than a winners-by-year list?
Because the historical information becomes an active puzzle: you have to compare nearby dates, spot traps, and mentally organise several champions at once before you submit.
